Terms of Use
The terms that apply to using Kelar.
Last updated: 8 October 2026
Introduction
These Terms govern your use of Kelar, including the Kelar website, mobile application and related services (together, “Kelar”). Kelar is operated by:
Kelar ASOrganisation number: 938 539 162Fagerheimgata 11A0567 OsloNorwayBy using Kelar, you agree to these Terms and to our Community Guidelines, which form part of these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Kelar.
About Kelar
Kelar is a platform for discovering events, activities and communities around you. Events on Kelar are published by organizers. Unless we say otherwise, Kelar is not the organizer of the events listed and is not a party to arrangements between you and an organizer.
Kelar’s features and availability will continue to evolve, and some features may not be available everywhere or to everyone at the same time.
Your Kelar account
Some features of Kelar require an account. You must be at least 13 years old to create a Kelar account.
If you create an account:
- give accurate information about yourself, and keep it up to date
- keep your sign-in details secure, and tell us if you think someone else has accessed your account
- do not create an account for someone else without their permission, or impersonate another person or organization
- do not share, sell or transfer your account to someone else
You are responsible for activity that takes place under your account.
You can delete your account at any time from within the Kelar app. Our Privacy Policy explains what happens to your information when you do.
We may suspend or terminate an account for serious or repeated violations of these Terms or the Community Guidelines, or where necessary to protect Kelar, its users or others.
Acceptable use
Use Kelar in line with these Terms, the Community Guidelines and applicable law. You must not misuse Kelar or interfere with its operation or security. This includes attempts to:
- access systems, accounts or information without authorization
- circumvent security, moderation or anti-abuse mechanisms
- submit automated or abusive traffic
- scrape or collect data from Kelar in bulk without permission
- introduce malicious software
- use Kelar to harass, deceive or harm others
- use Kelar in violation of applicable law
Organizers
Organizer access lets you publish events and manage an organizer profile on Kelar. You must be at least 18 years old to have organizer access. Kelar may review organizer applications and access requests, and may approve, reject or withdraw organizer access.
If you use Kelar as an organizer, you are responsible for:
- having authority to act for the organizer you represent, whether that is yourself, a business, a group or another organization
- the organizer profile and the events you publish
- keeping event information accurate and not misleading, including dates, times, venues and links
- updating event information when something changes
- any external ticket, registration or other links you add, and making sure they lead where they say they do
- the events themselves, and complying with laws that apply to them
Kelar may moderate, reject, remove or restrict organizer profiles and event content, as described in Moderation and enforcement.
Your content
“Your content” means anything you upload or publish on Kelar, such as event descriptions, event photos, logos, promotional artwork and organizer profile information.
You keep ownership of your content. Kelar does not become the owner of your content because you upload it.
You give Kelar AS a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use your content for as long as it is on Kelar. This license covers what we need to do to run the service, including to:
- host and store your content
- reproduce it, and resize, crop or format it for display
- display it and distribute it within Kelar
- review and moderate it
- promote your events and help people discover them through Kelar
The license also lets us use your content on Kelar’s own channels to promote your event, your organizer and Kelar’s event discovery service. These channels include kelar.app, Kelar-operated social media accounts, and Kelar newsletters and service communications.
We will ask for your separate permission before using your content in paid advertising, as prominent marketing material for Kelar in the App Store or Google Play, or in commercial campaigns unrelated to your event or Kelar’s event discovery service.
We may let our service providers do these things on our behalf, but only as needed to operate Kelar.
The license ends when your content is removed from Kelar, and we will not use it in new promotion after that. Content that already appeared on Kelar’s own channels, such as past social media posts or newsletters, may remain. Copies may also remain in backups for a limited time, and we may keep content where needed for legal, security, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution or safety reasons, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Rights in the content you upload
By uploading content to Kelar, you confirm that you either:
- own the content, or
- have the rights and permissions needed to use it and upload it to Kelar, and to grant the license above
This applies especially to event photos, logos, descriptions, promotional artwork and other uploaded material. If your content shows people, make sure you have any permission needed to publish it.
Do not upload content that infringes copyright, trademarks, privacy, publicity or other rights of others.
If you believe content on Kelar infringes your rights, contact contact@kelar.app with details of the content and the rights concerned.
Moderation and enforcement
Kelar uses automated tools and human review to help keep the service accurate and safe. Kelar may review content before or after it is published.
Where content or behavior violates these Terms, the Community Guidelines, the law, the rights of others, or the safety or integrity of Kelar, we may:
- reject or remove content
- limit how content is shown or distributed
- suspend or remove organizer access
- suspend or terminate accounts
We decide what action to take based on the severity and context of the issue. You can report concerns through Kelar’s available reporting tools or by contacting contact@kelar.app. If you believe we have made a mistake, contact us at the same address.
Tickets, registrations and external links
Kelar helps you discover events. Kelar does not sell tickets or process payments. Where an event uses an external link, purchases, registrations, ticketing, guestlists or applications happen through a third party, such as the organizer or a ticketing service.
Those transactions are between you and that third party, and may be governed by their own terms and privacy policy. Questions about tickets, refunds or registrations should be directed to the organizer or the service you used.
Event information and availability
Organizers are responsible for the information about their events. Event details, such as dates, times, venues, capacity and availability, can change, and events can be cancelled.
We work to keep Kelar accurate and remove content that breaks our rules, but we cannot guarantee that every event takes place exactly as described. Check important details with the organizer before you go.
Waitlist
You may choose to join the Kelar waitlist to receive information about trials, launch or availability.
Joining the waitlist does not:
- create a Kelar account
- guarantee access to a trial
- guarantee access by a particular date
- reserve a username or organizer identity
- provide special rights within the Kelar service
The waitlist is separate from Kelar accounts and organizer access.
You may leave the waitlist at any time by contacting contact@kelar.app.
Changes to Kelar
We may change, suspend or discontinue parts of Kelar as the service develops.
References to upcoming functionality, launch plans or availability are informational and are not guarantees that a particular feature or release date will be provided.
Kelar’s intellectual property
The Kelar name, branding, website and app design, illustrations, software and other original material made available by Kelar are owned by Kelar AS or used with appropriate rights. This does not include content uploaded by users and organizers.
You may use Kelar for its intended purposes. Protected material may not be copied, reproduced or commercially exploited without permission where such permission is required.
Third-party services and links
Kelar may rely on or link to third-party services, such as sign-in providers, maps and organizers’ own websites. Those services may have their own terms and privacy policies.
Kelar is not responsible for third-party services outside our control.
Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Kelar AS is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss resulting solely from use of, or inability to use, Kelar, or for events, products or services provided by organizers or other third parties.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be prohibited by applicable law, or affects rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived.
Privacy
Our handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as Kelar develops. The current version and the “Last updated” date will be published here. If a change significantly affects your rights, we will take reasonable steps to let you know in advance, for example in the app or by email.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by Norwegian law, subject to any mandatory rights or rules that apply to you under applicable law.
